Let's Face It Basic Facial Review

I don't like going to skin care centers. Since college my daily routine would be whitening soap, whitening toner and sometimes moisturizer, that's it. But one day it hit me. My face, when I looked at the mirror one morning, there's a lot of small bumps at my forehead and discoloration by some dried pimples. At afar, its not visible, but when you look really closely, you'll see the difference.

I guess my late night sleeping, improper eating, not taking of proper vitamins have caused this or maybe I'm just getting old and need to do some extra pampering. With that I decided to have a facial :)

I went to Lets Face It Trinoma branch to have a basic facial worth 245php. What's good about Let's Face It is that they have 2 FREE follow up checkups, if there are still traces of blackheads, whiteheads etc. Sulit!! (Filipino term for worth every penny). And you can add, powdered masks after the treatment. Took the antiseptic mask 125php to dry up the pimples immediately, as recommended by Jeanet who was taking care of my face (I initially want the skin whitening mask worth 250php).

The basic facial routine would be:

1. Jeanet cleansed my face  to remove anything that I have in my face initially using a cleansing concoction. This includes a facial massage.

2. A damp cotton is laid on both my eyes, then directed the steamer to my face for 20mins, to open up the pores.

3. Removed the cleansing concoction by using a hot towel.

4. She removed all of my face impurities that she can find.

5. Use a laser machine all over my face.

6. Additional back massage :)

7. Put the antiseptic mask, and it remained for 20mins. Here's how my face looks like with the antiseptic masks on :p

8. Removed the mask, and she removed the traces using a cold towel.

9. As finishing, she spread out an antibiotic cream all over my face.

The Verdict

My last facial was 6 months ago, I forgot what Lets Face It branch, but the service in Trinoma was better because of the extra massage! My face also looks cleaner and brighter (considering that its just an antiseptic masks). Though there are small dots because  of some blood clots due to the extraction, its okay, as after a day or two, it'll look better.

If you're asking if its painful, its okay, a normal facial is really painful if you have a lot of unknowns in your face, but hey, NO PAIN NO GAIN :)

The price is the wow for me, just 365php (facial + mask) for all the service I got above.

My overall rating would be 8/10, the service is okay, but the place is kinda small, hoping that they could put dividers in between the customers.

Will I go back again? Yes, but with another mask to try! (Can you recommend any effective mask/treatment?)

Taiwan Visa Requirements for Filipinos, and my mishap :s

Hello you!


Its my first time to get a visa, I was shocked the I need a visa for Taiwan, I thought Filipinos are exempted. Well, sometimes no, if you have any US/Schengen visa, just fill up a form online and you're exempted. 


If yes, just like me, we need to go to the Taiwan Embassy in Makati to get one.


How to get there
If you're not on a haste and cheap route (MRT + Walk)
1. Take MRT Station upto MRT Ayala (15 php)
2. Walk your way out up to the Taiwan Embassy. Pass by SM Makati, Glorietta, Landmark, Greenbelt, Bridgeway, HSBC Building, Underpass to go to the other side of the road of Ayala Ave (30minutes - will try to provide detailed description in another post)
3. Then walk straight to reach the RCBC plaza (10mins).


If you're not on a haste and rather take a bus than walk (MRT + BUS)
1. Take MRT Station upto MRT Shaw(15 php)
2. Take Ayala Bus, and ask the conductor if it'll pass by Paseo de Roxas, tell him to drop you there, infront of Robinsons Summit Building (12php - 30minutes)
3. Then walk straight to reach the RCBC plaza (10mins).


If you dont want to waste time (MRT + Taxi)
1. Take MRT Station upto MRT Shaw(15 php)
2. Take a taxi upto RCBC Plaza in Ayala Ave (20mins - 100php)


If you have the moolah to spend just take a taxi from your place and say RCBC Plaza in Ayala Ave, Makati. It'll cost around 100 to 400php, depending on your location.


Ok, so I took the cheapest route, cause I'm also worried that it might be traffic in Ayala and I can walk fast. Got my COE around 11:30 (office is very near TECO), then walked to RCBC arrived 11:40. It took me two underpass, to reach the building.


From their website its 11:45, but alas, the receptionist at the ground floor said its 11:30 :( Well it was okay, cause unlucky things like this happens, so YOU, make sure you're one hour earlier to avoid this kind of mishap.

Office hours for the consular affairs: Monday – Friday 08:45 – 16:45,(morning: filing, afternoon: releasing) noon break 11:45 – 13:45

Address: 41F, Tower 1, RCBC Plaza, 6819 Ayala Avenue, Makati City 1200, Metro Manila, Philippines

I just asked the receptionist to help me verify my requirements, and she agreed to let me go to the 41st floor, and go to the information counter. I also miss two requirements, my payslip and a photocopy of my company ID, so meaning, I need to go back on Monday either way haha! :)


Anyway here are the requirements to submit:
1. Passport
2. NSO Birth Certificate
3. Certificate of Employment
4. SSS ID
5. Ticket Confirmation Document
6. Payslip
7. Company ID
8. Photocopy of the above 7 Requirements for submission
9. 2 1.5x1.5 Passport Photos, White Background

Taiwan! Here I come! But what to wear this June?

Okay, so two days ago, I officially decided to go to Taiwan with my office friends next weekend. I have booked a regular ticket with Philippine Airlines which is my first time. I usually book via Cebu Pacific for my international flights because of the seat sale, but now, HELLO to Ms. Pureza (filipino slang term for being poor) 0.o


Yesterday, I was suppose to get my Taiwan Visa, but unfortunately didnt make it, as online TECO takes applications up to 11:45, but there its 11:30. Will share this in another blog post! :)


Hopefully it'll be worth it, when searching the net, tourist spots in Taipei that usually recommended are:


1. Chang Kai Shek Temple (so a popular school here in Manila, was derived from Taiwan's popular dictator?)
2. Taipei 101 (2nd tallest building in the whole world - 37seconds to the 89th floor, plus a Din Tai Fung Branch here!)
3. Shilin Night Market (a lot of street food and shopping)
4. Ximendeng Night Market (where the Famous eat all you can hotpot lies)
5. Taipei Zoo (largest zoo in Asia - me wanna see a panda)
6. Danshui Town (Fisherman's Warf and Love Bridge)


I'm excited to try lot of street food,milk tea can go as low as 40php (large serenitea size - no kidding)


Also just an FYI 1php = 1.5twd


I can and will try to squeeze all of these, in my 4 days 3 nights trip, hmm will let you know!


My dilemma, is what to wear? Saw from lonelyplanet that on June, its summer (but sometimes rainy due to sudden typhoons). Can you help me decide?
